This patch sounds a bit like a cello if you play single low notes slowly.

This one is pretty cool!
* If you have the RP6 (or a CC pedal) incorporate it!

Heavy Distortion 2Matt Reynolds
Dope96@aol.com

This patch generates a lot of treble, largely because of the  use of Grunge distortion, I use it to play low muggy stuff though and find an interesting effect by turning down the treble on my  guitar knobs and amp. (I use position 2, neck and middle p.u. on a strat with tone turned ALL the way down).(Or position 3 sometimes)  If you don't like this approach and sound, just modify the eq  to cut the treble instead. (I play Black Sabbath w/ this patch)
* This is based loosley on factory patch 01, some may not like the        PCH/detune set so heavy, as usual, flavor to taste.

Don't you think it's interesting that both Fred and I used the GRUNGE
distortion to simulate old fashioned tube amp dist.!? This seems counter-
intuitive, but the Overdrive dist. just doesn't seem to shine in this
situation. Strange.

* After putting this into your system, crank the low and high on your amp and turn the mid's down all the way. this will give a really bassy and sharp sound. I use a Strat, so if you have a guitar with humbuckers, you might want to lower the bass cause it might not sound right.

* Crank position switch to neck pickup.

* I use this to play Metallica's overdriven rhythm parts. For the REALLY fast power chords sometimes used, I just turn on the pitch shifter for instant power chords.
* If you need to, raise the silencer.

* If you are using an RP-5, ignore the CC1, 100, 0 in left column (they set up expression pedal for volume). Also CLU reverb is (I think) reverb #1. The RP-6 uses words for the reverb types.
* I use this to play Metallica's clean passages. Some require the reverb to be shut off (such as the intro to ...And Justice For All, so just do it.

A lead sound with an octaver one octave down.
Patch created on an Ibanez Artist and MusicMan RD65
For RP-5 users leave the CC1 setup aside, it's the volume pedal setting.
The reverb code is STUdio on the RP-6 and it's sequence nr.2. I still have to
figure out a correspondance between RP-6 and RP-5
Sweet Blues Tone 1Matt Reynolds
Dope96@aol.com
* I have no idea what possesed me to write this patch the way I did.
It doesn't seem logical at all to me now. I think I wrote this
right when I got the thing, before I understood it really.
I only just rediscovered this patch recently, and everytime I try
to change it to something I THINK I will like better, I don't
like it as well! What does this prove... Ignorance is the mother
of genious?!? I guess so, have fun with it.
* This patch has a sweet blues tone (to me) and I use it constantly.
It works very well for leads/solos, and chords! I use position
#2 (or it it 4?) (neck and middle p.u.) with the tone on about 4
and 6, the tone knobs seem to have a significant affect on the
quality ot the sound, so as usual, flavor to taste.
Thank you for your patches, and post more!
